A WORLD SET FREE IN OUR LIFETIME

WHO WE ARE

What does it mean to be a Libertarian?

There are many misconceptions about the Libertarian Party. Essentially, the Libertarian Party is about upholding the freedoms and liberties that all humans are born with. We stand for equality, openness, and smaller government. It’s our belief that Government is not effective and is becoming increasingly intrusive at both the Federal level.  State and Local governments are better equipped to serve their communities, as such local initiatives are necessary and more effective for initiating necessary changes in our communities.

We’re not extreme Republicans, Republicans that smoke weed, or Republican-Lite.

In general, Libertarians support the view that you can be as liberal or conservative as you want to be and to live your life without interference so long as it does not infringe on the rights of another.  You will find Libertarians that lean left, those that lean right, and many somewhere in between. As Libertarians we tend to hold that the free market and the laws of economics are best able to distribute and determine the allocation of scarce resources in society. It means that we do not support crony capitalism or corporate bailouts and support reducing spending, including for military and foreign aid, as well as lowering taxes.

We’re not exclusive.

We welcome everyone, from every background, creed, and color. Civil discourse and discussion are valued and the Non-Aggression Principle (NAP) is a core tenant of the party. A person is free to believe what they want and share it with others. A diversity of mindset helps strengthen our position and makes the Libertarian Party unique. If you’re from a different background or party, feel free to join in the discourse, we'd would love to discuss.

We’re growing.

The party is growing across the country. Our logical, fair, middle of the road politics make us a popular alternative to the traditional two parties, whose increasing partisanship is leading to greater divisiveness in this country and ever-shrinking membership. Join us in our efforts to set the world free in our lifetime!
